Lydia Deering – Junior Colourist – Reba, Rathborne
Lydia began working with Reba since our first salon opened in Ongar, where she worked on reception. She has always had great potential to be a fabulous hairdresser but instead focused on her career as a receptionist, until two years ago! Lucky for us Lydia turned her hand to hairdressing and hasn’t looked back since, she has now worked herself up to junior colorist and is a crucial part of our team.
Since finding her career in hairdressing Lydia has loved every minute, she thoroughly enjoys styling and colour, but all aspects of hairdressing appeal to Lydia. She recalls moments when famous faces have popped into Reba most recently Angeline Ball from the now infamous Commitments, who Lydia looked after and done a superb job. Above all Lydia’s speciality within hairdressing at the moment would be blow-drys.
Top-Tip from Lydia: “Hair treatment at home or in salon are essential for keeping your hair glossy and gorgeous, especially for coloured hair. I would recommend Macadamia Natural Oil which is a deep repair masque which will penetrate and rebuild damaged hair”.
NYX Cosmetics offer a variety of products ranging from eye shadows to foundation and brushes to eyelashes and glitter to glosses! The name NYX was derived from the ancient Greek goddess who ruled the night.
Only the best quality products are produced by NYX and offered at attractive prices, so now you can go ahead and splurge without feeling guilty. NYX was originated in 1999 in Los Angeles by its founder Toni Ko who say’s –
“Every woman is different and I try to offer products and choices that help them be beautiful,self-possessed and confident to match their individual, unique styles”
NYX has received rave reviews and been used in editorial shoots for magazines such as Essence, Seventeen, InStyle and Glamour, to name but a few.
The best thing about NYX, is that it has now come to REBA. We are offering a wide selection of NYX product’s in our salon, stop by and try them out. You’ll be hooked on this fab cosmetic range just like we are.
Orla O Brien – Assistant Manager – Reba, Rathborne
Orla began her career in Hairdressing at the age of 12, working part-time with her mother while also studying for her leaving certificate. She stayed working in this role until the age of seventeen. When she obtained her Leaving Certificate she then went on to work full-time in this role where she stayed for five years. She then moved onto another salon in Greystones where she worked for three years before starting with us here in Reba Hair & Beauty.
Orla began her role here in Reba in April and is Assistant Manager of our Rathborne salon. She has taken part in numerous hair competitions including the Irish Hair Federation competition where she showcased her talent in the trainee blow-dry category and cut and colour category.
Orla’s speciality within hairdressing would be colour and blow-dry’s although she doesn’t dislike any aspect of hairdressing.
Top-Tip from Orla: Using a good back-combing brush instead of your average comb is much more beneficial to your hair, it is less damaging and is extremely easy for people to use at home. “everyone can look like Diana Ross” with this, says Orla. Her favourite product to use is Kitoko hair oil, which is like an oil and butter treatment all in one.
